Fabio Caramuru, one of the last students of the late and famous pianist Magdalena Tagliaferro – winner of awards from the São Paulo Association of Art Critics – launches THE WINGS SUITE, OP. 16, an album that presents an orchestral expansion of works originally written for solo piano.

The project, a collaboration with the Amazonas Filarmônica orchestra and the Amazonas Choir, under the baton of maestro Marcelo de Jesus, consists of a suite of eight movements, inspired by the richness of Brazilian fauna. Caramuru counted on the talent and partnership of Rodrigo Morte, in the orchestral arrangements, which added new and refined sound palettes to the works.

In the suite, movements such as Cicada stand out, originally acclaimed in its piano version with more than a million streams; Bem-te-vi, which stands out with its unique rhythm, mixing jazz elements. Araras, on the other hand, reflects the rich Brazilian biodiversity in its syncopated and elegant themes. Harpia and Quero-quero continue in this ode to nature, while Tangará and Uirapuru present, respectively, a slow waltz with a delicate texture and an evocative sound journey through the profound beauty of the Amazon. The suite culminates with Sabiá, Saudade do Brasil, a tribute to the famous poem “Canção do Exílio” by Gonçalves Dias, which definitively weaves the sound tapestry of Caramuru’s singular work.
