Exciting new musicians are constantly emerging from music-enthusiastic Austria. On TRANSFORMATION, the young cellist Jeremias Fliedl presents himself for the first time on CD. He is accompanied by the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, which has discovered many a new talent in recent years. On the podium is another young star from Austria, the Viennese Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, who is now known not only as an excellent violinist but also as a promising conductor.

Jeremias Fliedl is the first Austrian winner of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition and the last pupil of Heinrich Schiff. For his debut album, he has therefore chosen two works that have accompanied him since his early youth and which he worked on with Schiff: Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations and Stravinsky's Suite Italienne on themes from the ballet Petrushka. For these two central works of the cello repertoire, he has chosen compositions that one would not necessarily expect to find on a first portrait album, Hindemith's Funeral Music and the Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Villa-Lobos. The famous Aria is heard here in unusual polyphony. Fliedl recorded all nine voices and mixed them in overdub as his own sound engineer.
