Drums have a unique place in Norwegian folk music and folk tradition. In the 19th century, in several places in Norway it was unthinkable to arrange a wedding without having a drummer along. Jazz drummer Carl Haakon Waadeland from NTNU has grasped this. The drumming music on "Din råta tjuv" is set in a contemporary context. The soundscape is completely original, unlike anything else. The release stands out from most other releases and can certainly be recommended. But the drums only form the bedrock of the music. The jazz musicians Marianne Kannegaard, Terje Isungset, Ståle Storløkken, Gunnar Andreas Berg, Trygve Seim and various vocalists improvise soundscapes that weave into the massive play of the drums
