Right Belief (1986) and Right Action (1987) are tapes by Peter Kardas made in the low dozens and traded via the regular channels of the day. One wound up in the mailbox of Eugene Electronic Music Collective cofounder Peter Thomas, and would be listed in an EEMC tape catalog, and then more or less forgotten for the next quarter century until Yoga Records founder and Numero Group A&R Douglas Mcgowan began investigating Eugene’s undocumented electronic music history, culminating in the 2018 Switched-On Eugene compilation — which featured Kardas’ synth epic ‘Other Playgrounds’. A few months later Yoga Records & Echo Ocho released “I Saw You,” a now OOP vinyl compilation of the best of these first two tapes. But both deserve to be heard in full, so we now proudly present Right Belief and Right Action by Peter Kardas.
