Now into his 21st year releasing music, Peter Major AKA Opolopo has amassed an incredible catalogue of music, much of which brilliantly blurs the boundaries between disco, deep house, jazz-funk and broken beat. Having spent the last couple of years remixing and re-editing other people's work, Major is now ready to offer up some fresh original productions. He begins in typical impressive fashion via the bouncy, disco-goes-house brilliance of 'Bebeccie's Theme' - all billowing orchestration, cascading pianos, jammed-out jazz-funk synth solos and rolling grooves - before Fouk provide a deliciously jaunty, boogie-tinged disco-house rub of 'Stroke My Disco'. The honeyed vocals of Darian feature prominently on the superbly soulful jazz-house jam that is 'Looking For You', while 'Chocolate Spiders' is a Clavinet-sporting fusion on early '80s jazz-funk and expansive peak-time house.
