Paul McCandless - oboe, english horn, bass clarinet
Nick Brignola - flute
Bob Moses - drums
Jim Saporito - percussion
A moody and introspective set that would be very much at home on the ECM label, this out-of-print LP generally has David Friesen's bass in the forefront with fine support from acoustic guitarist Ralph Towner, electric guitarist John Stowell, Nick Brignola (a fine baritonist here heard exclusively on flute), Paul McCandless (tripling on oboe, English horn and bass clarinet), drummer Bobby Moses, and percussionist Jim Saporito. With the exception of Jeff Lorber's "Song of Switzerland," all of the compositions are Friesen originals, and with such titles as "Spring Wind," "The Peace That Passes Understanding" and "Song of the Stars," it is not surprising that the music sometimes hints at new age. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
