Charm City Junction - Salt Box (2024)

Charm City Junction - Salt Box (2024)

BAND/ARTIST: Charm City Junction

The Baltimore Salt Box represents all that is Baltimore, our beloved hometown from which we derive our band name. As a band rooted in a variety of musical spices, the Salt Box represents to us a metaphorical musical well from which we draw our inspiration. Literally, Salt Boxes exist on streets all throughout the city for community members to use in winter storms to clear the sidewalks. Many of them have been repurposed with clever artwork that represents all the quirks of Baltimore. Metaphorically, we imagine the Salt Box as an embodiment of how something can be repurposed and made anew - much like our approach to roots music. Open a Salt Box and you’ll never know exactly what’s inside. Whatever is in there, it’s distinctly Baltimore.
