Ahmad Al Khatib was born in 1974 in a Jordanian Palestinian refugee camp. He learned to play the oud as a child and then received instruction from the Palestinian musician Ahmad Abdel Qasem. He subsequently studied musicology and Western classical cello music at Yarmouk University (Jordan) with Japanese Cello teacher Moto Takao.
Kaveh Mahmudiyan was born in 1983 in Mahabad, Iran. He moved to Norway with his family in 1977. At the age of 13, Kaveh started playing tombak and learning music from Farhad Bazargan, Pejman Hadadai and Pedram Khavarzamini. Currently, Kaveh composes solo and duet pieces for tombak. He has collaborated with internationally acclaimed Iranian musicians such as Dariush Talai, Hamid Motebassem, Pedram Khavarzamini and Javid Afsari Rad, and the famous Norwegian jazz musicians Bugge Wesseltoft and Trygve Seim.
