Sestrica - Memory Lane (2024)

Sestrica indulges in nostalgic oblivion on her album titled "Memory Lane", organizing a session of deep self-therapy. Her silent musical poetry takes on song forms - Eugenia's sensitive vocals can be heard in most of the tracks on the album, seamlessly weaving in between the familiar gradient pads and languid trance synthesizers.
Two years of covid turbulence, a series of wars, mass migration and countless political upheavals - the world has managed to change a lot in the last few years. Each of these phenomena has had many private consequences for each of us: broken ties and personal loss, desperate searches for new meanings and nervous breakdowns, forced isolation and the inability to return to certain places. Sestrica finds spiritual salvation in the warmest and most unchanging of all - her own memories.
The compositions on "Memory Lane" are a kind of audio memoir. Each of them, like a separate chapter, is dedicated to something very specific and personal - long periods of life and lightning changes, places of strength and close people, moments of catharsis and indescribable expiriences at the intersection of the physical and psycho-emotional. These are the few memories that never fade and over time become life's foundation.
