Madcat's Roughriders - Madcat's Roughriders (2024)

Founded in the quiet streets of Gingelom, Belgium, our journey began when frontman and lead vocalist, "Madcat" Frank D’Heye and drummer Niels “Triple X” Deglin were on the hunt for some bluesy strings. Niels needed a partner in rhythm crime and found his bass player in Bram “Dr. Racoon” Gourmand. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of lead guitarist Yves “Mr. Six Strings” Lenaerts.

Eventhough all of us came from different musical backgrounds, we shared a mutual admiration for the blues legends and rock pioneers. It was clear from the beginning that these would be our source of inspiration, but not our limitation. We wanted to pay tribute to the masters, without becoming another copycat band.

When people ask us “what music do you play?”, we take great pride in the fact that we actually can’t give them one definitive answer. Some people label our music as blues, others as absolute bluesrock, even hinting at pub rock. We actually had someone colorfully describing it as a “Tarantino soundtrack”. Whatever it is, we have a blast when playing it!
