Guitarist Phil Sargent leads a core unit of Greg Loughman/b and Mike Connors/der-perc along with guests Jerry Sabatini/tp and Anastassiya Peterova/p on a collection of originals. With Peterova, Sargent and company drive propulsively through the prancing “Skyline” and the upbeat “Breathe”. Sabatini joins in for adding to the soft chords of “Life” and laconic “Bivawack” around Sargents’ echoing tones. On acoustic guitar, Sargent delivers some rich flamenco sketches on “Me Fa Me Re” and gets folksy for “Sons” and plugs in with excitement on the lyrical “Isolation” and V8 engined “Rest Area”.
