The legendary soul/funk bassist Larry Graham returns with his band Graham Central Station for a stunning new album featuring special guest performances from Prince and Raphael Saadiq.
'Raise Up' includes new recordings of three of the band's favourite songs ("Now Do U Wanta Dance", "It Ain't No Fun To Me" and "Its Alright"), as well as ten highly anticipated new songs in a sophisticated mix of bass driven funk and soul with infectious horn lines and powerful vocals.
It's a must have album, with its special guest performances by Prince on three songs ("Raise Up", "Shoulda Coulda Woulda" and "Movin'") and Raphael Saadiq on the song "One Day". Larry Graham first came to note with Sly and the Family Stone in the 1960s and '70s before founding Graham Central Station. "I have been living in Minnesota for the last 14 years" Larry Graham says, "and neighbours with Prince - we're like family." Raphael Saadiq said of his collaboration with Larry: "I was raised up on Graham Central Station. Last year Larry performed on my album and now I'm happy to be performing on his."
