A MAGICAL BROACAST RECORDING FROM 2006 IN ROMEO & JULIET s HOMETOWN Following Dire Straits dissolution in 1995, main-man Mark Knopfler released several solo-albums, composed numerous movie soundtracks, and, in 2006, released All The Roadrunning, a collaboration with American country songstress Emmylou Harris. Recorded across the previous seven years at various sessions, the record was well received, hitting the number one spot on album charts in several European countries. Knopfler and Harris supported the release with the All The Roadrunning Tour of Europe and North America, which started on 26 May 2006 in Brussels, Belgium, and included 23 concerts in 23 cities, ending in Berkeley, California, on 30 June 2006. Among the tour s highlights was the concert they performed in Verona, Italy - allegedly the home city of William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , a couple so perfectly honoured in one of Mark Knopfler s best loved songs - on 3rd June 06, which was recorded for live FM radio transmission, and which included tracks from the recent record alongside a plethora of compositions from the back catalogues of both Mark and Emmylou - unsurprisingly, including the aforementioned tune. Previously unreleased, this stunning show is now available for the first time on this stunning 2CD set, a release which is bound to delight fans of both these extraordinary musicians, composers and performers.
