The 11th International Chopin Competition was held in Warsaw in October 1985. Legend has it that Stanislav Bunin, a 17-year-old young man from the Soviet Union, had an outstanding presence from the preliminary round. This album is a compilation of live recordings. Initially, it was a two-disc set that included the final selection's Piano Concerto No. 1, but due to the excellence of the performance and the popularity of the song, it was compiled into one definitive edition. Everyone was convinced that they were the winners due to their free-spirited and sparkling tones, and the aura that captured the listener's attention even in the small pieces. All 11 songs recorded shine brightly, and it is surprising that their awesomeness has not faded at all even today...
