Vito Di Modugno is among the figures best known to the public in the field of contemporary jazz, particularly for his role as one of the most highly regarded Hammond players at an international level. He also appeared in the special ranking of Down Beat, the most authoritative jazz magazine in the world, among the best interpreters of the instrument. Leading his quartet, which includes musicians of great national prestige (Massimo Manzi, Michele Carrabba, Pietro Condorelli), he joins the Italian giant Fausto Leali, known throughout the world for his scratchy voice which earned him the nickname of negro white, with successes in the field of Italian pop music that have entered the collective imagination: A chi (cover of Hurt), Angelitos negros, Un’ora fa, Io camminerò, Io amo, Mi manchi, Ti lascerò (with which will win the 1987 Sanremo Festival paired with Anna Oxa).
