Tin Men and the Telephone - Greatest (2023)

The recordings on this album were made during the later stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 in three separate sessions. During the lockdown periods, we performed an online version of the G.R.E.A.T.E.S.T. SHOW - a show about the climate crisis, in which the audience could actively participate through our self-developed Tinmendo app. The speech-based compositions come from that show. Since the government was already regulating every other aspect of our lives, we didn't really feel like adding more rules with additional composed pieces. As a result, the majority of the recorded tracks are free improvisations. We recorded 36 different improvisations, each of which we found pretty cool in one way or another. Perhaps for that reason, it literally took years to release the album on top of professional procrastination and the slow post-pandemic recovery of the art scene. Sorry for that and the fact that we had to skip many pieces as vinyl has limited space, but we hope you enjoy it. The recordings and the online shows took place from our tiny home studio in the center of Amsterdam, known for the highest ratio of cables, analog synthesizers, compressors, and cat hairs per square meter.
