LUNA SEA has released a self-cover album that is a full retake of two of the biggest albums in Japanese rock history, "MOTHER" and "STYLE." ``MOTHER'' released in 1994 included many hit songs such as ``ROSIER'' and ``TRUE BLUE'', and ``STYLE'' released in 1996 including ``DESIRE'' and ``IN SILENCE''. These are two gems produced in the late 1990s, when LUNA SEA rose to an undisputed position in the Japanese rock scene. And in producing this self-cover, following his previous album "CROSS", he appointed Steve Lillywhite, a world-renowned music producer who won six Grammy Awards, as a mix engineer!!
In 1989, members RYUICHI (Vo), SUGIZO (Gt/Violin), INORAN (Gt), J (Ba), and Maya (Dr) started live performances based at Machida Playhouse. (The notation at that time was LUNACY)
In 1990, the band changed its name to LUNA SEA, and the following year, in 1991, they released their first album ``LUNA SEA'' from Ecstasy Records.
In 1992, he made his major debut with the album "IMAGE" from MCA Victor (now Universal Music).
After that, the album recorded million sales, and the scale of live events expanded to Nippon Budokan, Tokyo Dome, and nationwide arena tours, and on May 30, 1999, they held an outdoor live show CAPACITY∞ to commemorate their 10th anniversary. .
The stage collapsed due to a storm just before the concert, and it was feared that the performance would be canceled, but the concert was held with the stage set reduced to rubble as a backdrop, and 100,000 people gathered to witness the miracle.
In November 2000, they announced their sudden “end”.
Their activities will end with the Tokyo Dome performance on December 26th and 27th.
Seven years have passed since the end of the curtain, on December 24, 2007, Christmas Eve with a full moon.
One night only revival performance "GOD BLESS YOU~One Night Dejavu~" will be held at Tokyo Dome.
In 2010, we finally announced "REBOOT".
They held a world tour including a 3-day tour at Tokyo Dome, and resumed full-scale activities.
