The debut CD of the young ensemble La florida Capella, which won the prestigious Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber Competition already in the year of its founding in 2021, is dedicated to music of Venetian Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677). Her only collection of sacred music, the Sacri musicali affetti Op.5 (1655), she dedicated to the Tyrolean prince Anna de' Medici. Also heard here is the great Italian soprano Federico Fiorio. The expressive, highly virtuoso motets are among the best and at the same time heaviest composed in the 17th century.
