Bill Booth was born and raised in the State of Maine USA and arrived in Oslo with a band from New York City. He quickly received offers from several successful Norwegian bands that lead to an eventual relocation. After highly acclaimed record reviews abroad, as well as Spellemannpris music award nominations in Norway (in both blues and country categories), roots musician Bill Booth comes with his seventh solo project "River Town". Lyrics are inspired by stories from typical small American mill towns. The soundscape is an exciting mix of blues, folk and rock. Booth's musical style has often been compared to Dylan, Springsteen and Knopfler. But with his trademark - fiddle with blues and 'folk' tones, he is far from a copy artist.
In addition to vocals and violin, Booth plays electric and acoustic guitars, as well as mandolin on the album. With him are Billy T on bass, Alex Pettersen on drums and Paul Kirby on backing vocals and banjo. Through the lyrics of the new songs, we hear stories inspired by small, typical American industrial towns, and everyday life of the working class, in tough times, crime, love, personal tradgedies and wanderlust. Bill Booth is originally American from the state of Maine. He came to Norway on tour with a band from New York City before he received offers from several established Norwegian rock musicians.
