After splitting from his virtuosic bandmates of more than a decade, Henry Rollins adopted L.A. funk-rock group Mother Superior as his new backing band. Marcus Blake (bass), Jim Wilson (guitar), and Jason Mackenroth (drums) reinvigorated Hammerin' Hank and helped deliver his best work since THE END OF SILENCE with GET SOME GO AGAIN. As one might expect, the songs are trademarked by Rollins' brand of aggressive yet intellectual punk-metal.
Though the album opener, "Illumination," begins with Henry speaking, things quickly get loud from there. "Monster" and the title track feature a heavy riff and a crunching solo. "Love's So Heavy" shows the group's ability to blend funk into the mix. "I Go Day Glo" is a faster cut that recalls Black Sabbath. "Are You Ready?," is a Thin Lizzy cover that features original Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham. During the song, Henry asks "Are you ready to hit the floor?," and "Are you ready to rock?," both questions likely to inspire mosh pits in concert. The highlight of the powerful set is "L.A. Money Train," a 14-minute hidden track featuring MC5's Wayne Kramer, who delivers a smokin' solo.~Get Some Go Again [Bonus Tracks] Review by AllMusic
