The Grip Weeds - Under The Influence Of Christmas (2023)

Little Steven's Underground Garage radio show chose The Grip Weeds' first holiday single ''Christmas, Bring Us'' as ''Coolest Song In The World'', and it went on to become a perennial favorite among fans and radio programmers alike. So the band decided to up the ante with a full album of holiday goodness.

This groovy 11-song collection is chock-full of original yuletide tunes, traditional Holiday songs and Rock n' Roll Christmas classics, all performed in their ''sparkling, catchy psyche-pop'' style that will make you hear the colors and see the sounds this season.

''It was our intent to craft a collection of holiday songs that could be enjoyed year-round,'' said Kurt Reil of the Grip Weeds. ''Good holiday music puts the listener in that warm, happy holiday mood. With this album we've projected that joyful holiday feeling through the prism of psychedelic garage rock. You won't know whether to stand under the mistletoe or stare at if for hours.''

For Under The Influence Of Christmas, The Grip Weeds invited many special guest artists - many of whom they have worked with recently at The House Of Vibes, their own commercial recording studio.

Former lead singer of Paul Revere and The Raiders Mark Lindsay, members of The Smithereens, The Left Banke, along with Underground Garage faves The Doughboys, The Anderson Council and more.

Along with the aforementioned ''Christmas, Bring Us'', Under The Influence Of Christmas features three new Grip Weeds originals, cover versions of rock classics by Jethro Tull, The Pretenders and ELP, along with newly arranged versions of Christmas staples such as ''Hark The Herald Angels Sing'' and ''Welcome Christmas'' from The Grinch!
