Christin Högnabba - Den starkare (2023)

"During her career, Margareta Hallin was one of Sweden's foremost opera singers and began her career as a composer in the 1980s as one of our few female composers born before 1950.
Hallin is an important pioneer and role model for later generations of composers, and her collaboration with the clarinetist Kjell Fagéus has given author of a variety of subtle and unique works for voice and clarinet, of which the chamber opera The Stronger is perhaps the most notable; a music-dramatic work for two voices and a clarinet.
In connection with a planned production of Den starkare/The Stronger (KammarOperaKompaniet, premiere 17 Dec 2021), the proposal came that the work should be recorded together with additional chamber music works for a similar crew. Hallin's music is only partially recorded.
It is partly about making available previously unrecorded contemporary music from 20-30 years ago, partly about highlighting an older generation of female Swedish composers of the 20th century."
