Katie Stewart - Haunted (2023)

Katie Stewart is a Texas girl through and through. Although Stewart is from Dallas, her songwriting and performances began when she moved to Central Texas in 2013. An artist from the beginning, Stewart was born into a family full of strings and pianos. After 15 years of studying classical piano, she started playing guitar and hasn’t stopped. As an independent performer, you’ll find Stewart’s shows sprinkled with thoughts on humanity and new-world reality.

Stewart’s music reflects a southern blues influence with a twist of folk. Her influences include Lightnin’ Hopkins, Willie Nelson, Arlo Guthrie and Bob Dylan – just to name a few. In 2014, Stewart won second place in the singer/songwriter competition held at the Elgin Hogeye Festival of Elgin, TX. In 2015, Stewart was invited to perform during SXSW festival in Austin at The Lion’s Nest Art Gallery, on east 6th street at the time. After performing for years in a variety of venues, she took some time off to focus on her writing. After a reset, and armed with new songs, Stewart was excited to return to performing live shows — but then, the pandemic.

In 2021, Stewart recorded with Orb Recording Studios and Renowned Sound Productions in Austin and Waco, Texas, respectively. Although she became a mother in the fall of 2022, she is dedicated to sharing her original music and performing live. In addition to her own material, her first album will include original songs by other Central Texas songwriters. “Haunted” will be independently released on all major digital platforms in 2023.
