As a sequel to the successful documentary "De Nieuwe Wildernis" ("The New Wilderness"; 2013), Eric Vloeimans was invited to provide the soundtrack for Willem Berents' latest film: "Wild Port Of Europe". It's about the animals that live in the port of Rotterdam. It turned out that Vloeimans was excellent at handling small details and paying a lot of attention to the animals. In the musical all-rounders Jörg Brinkmann (cello) and Dirk-Peter Kölsch (drums) he found the perfect partners to realize his musical ideas. In "Wild Port of Europe" the music supports the images, but is also allowed to distinguish itself: atmospheric port images and catchy melodies for the animals... in other words: a multi-faceted music, as we are used to in Vloeimans' musical universe. Think of a nest of baby hedgehogs, a kestrel in search of prey, the migration of the natterjack toad, a polecat chasing a rabbit - this and much more takes you on a musical journey through the port of Rotterdam.
