After 25 years, Pucho reorganized his Latin Soul Brothers in 1995, at first including many of his alumni. The musicians had grown through the years, including altoist Eddie Pazant (doubling on flute) and trumpeter Al Pazant. Vibraphonist William Bivens is a strong asset, and four percussionists provide a lot of sounds for Pucho (on timbales) to play off of. In addition to the 11-piece group, there are six guests, including Steve Berrios on percussion, saxophonist Mel Martin, and guitarist Melvin Sparks (who sings along with his guitar á la George Benson on one number). Highlights include "Milestones," Jack McDuff's catchy "Hot Barbecue," and "Caravan." One of Pucho's strongest jazz sets of his career.
