Randi Tytingvåg Trio (Dag Vagle, Erlend E. Aasland) has created a unique soundscape inspired by the folk, jazz and folk song genres. This year is their tenth anniversary, which they are celebrating with the release of this new album. Hjem (Home) is their fifth album together. Randi has composed the music and written the lyrics in close collaboration with the poet Helge Torvund. This time they have written about longing to find the way home. To find the way we must constantly draw on our experiences to discover who we are now, both as individuals and as a society.
“We might think that the safest way home is to turn around and go back. But couldn’t we think that going forward is the way home? Could we draw on our experiences to find the road ahead? Maybe we should try to step off the beaten track a little? Not just repeat old patterns but dare to search for who we are now?” (Randi Tytingvåg)
This time too they are joined by the fabulous guest musicians Tarjei Nysted and Gjermund Silset. Together they make a very special chamber orchestra with great dynamic range.
