LA GRELA QUINTETO DE TANGO began in September 2001 as a project of tango musicians who seek to explore the genre with their own compositions and arrangements. After going through several formations (quartet, sextet, orchestra) is consolidated as a quintet. Currently he is composed of Pablo Fraguela (piano, arrangements and musical direction), Diego Tejedor (violin), Rubén Slonimsky (bandoneon and arrangements), Rafael Delgado (violoncello) and Ricardo Cánepa (double bass).
From its beginnings, he constantly performs presentations in Buenos Aires and in the interior and exterior of the country. Some outstanding performances: International Tango Festival of Buenos Aires, Golden Hall of the House of Culture, Notable Bars, Torquato Tasso Cultural Center, Usina del Arte. Joventango Festival (Montevideo, Uruguay), ICPNA Cultural Center (Lima, Peru).
It has three albums released "La Grela, Quinteto de tango" (2002) "Recuerdo" (2006) and "La reina del femín" (2012). He has also made recordings, along with Nestor Basurto in "Recalada", Hernán Lucero and Dolores Solá in "Tangos nuevos", Lorena Astudillo in "Un mar de flores", Margarita Laso (Ecuador) in "Garganta con arena" LA GRELA QUINTETO DE TANGO has been a stable group of Café Tortoni and a tango group of the National University of Lanús (UNLA). He has made four tours to Ecuador, along with the Ecuadorian singer Margarita Laso in 2006, and with the show "Tango Sinfónico" with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador in 2005, 2007 and 2015. In 2015 he was a special guest of the Festival La Mercè de Barcelona (Spain) as part of the show "La Pista Tango". He is currently preparing a new "Clásicos" record material in which the singers Inés Cuello and Emiliano Castignola will participate as guests, and two new tours to Peru and Ecuador for 2017 that have the support of Ibermúsicas.
