Marie Perbost - Dis-moi Vénus… (2023) [Hi-Res]

Venus; goddess of sensuality and great orchestrator of pleasures; pulls the strings of opera characters as if they were puppets in the land of Tendre. With great delectation; Marie Perbost invokes the goddess and the heroines of French opera from the century of Louis XV to embody all the victims of passions unleashed by Aphrodite. There are masterpieces and discoveries here; from the satirical mockery of Madness in Rameau’s Platée to the virtuosic pages of Mondonville in Les Fêtes de Paphos. By turns pastoral and piquant; tender and burning; the divine Marie Perbost; supported by Gaétan Jarry; embraces all the music of love under Louis XV. A medley of jesting and fleeting romances; grace and libertinism; experience the delirium of the senses titillated by Eros and Cupid!

Boasting a solid musical background (Maîtrise de Radio France, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, Académie de l'Opéra de Paris, Académie du Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Young Singers Project of Salzburg Festival), Marie Perbost has won a host of prizes and accolades. She was named the Révélation Lyrique (“Lyric Revelation”) at the 2016 ADAMI and Révélation Artiste Lyrique (“Opera Singer Revelation) of the Victoires de la Musique classique (Classical Music Awards) in 2020.

Over the course of her budding career, she has performed as Blanche de la Force in Dialogues Des Carmelites; Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte; Elisetta in The Secret Marriage by Cimarosa; The Young Woman in Reigen by Boesmans; Pamina in Die Zauberflöte (Opéra de Tours), Marzelline in Fidelio (Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing), Tullia in Il Mondo Alla Roversa by Galuppi (Ensemble Akadêmia), Lucine in Le Testament De Tante Caroline by Roussel (Les Frivolités Parisiennes); The Countess in Richard Coeur De Lion (Le Concert Spirituel d'Hervé Niquet, Opéra Royal de Versailles); the title role of Coronis by Durón (Le Poème Harmonique/Opéra Comique), La Folie in Platée (Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra Royal de Versailles); Orfeo by Monteverdi (Les Epopées), Musetta in La Bohème (Capitole de Toulouse), Gloire, Phénice, Mélisse in Armide by Gluck (Opéra de Dijon, Opéra Royal de Versailles), and more.
