For those of you who are lucky enough to remember the golden era of AM Radio, and the "All Night Radio" format... this album is dedicated to you, and the great Country Radio DJ's of the past & present. I pray we never forget those radio personalities that became a part of our lives, our memories and our national fabric. As a young man, I never felt more free and alive than when I was on the road, late at night, face bathed in the amber glow of dash-lights, lungs filled with fresh cool air from an open window & that AM Radio spilling out great Country Music through crackly speakers ... delivered in style, by an entertainer, a personality, a believer, a fan, a star maker, a DJ. This album is not so much an effort to recreate that sound, or that format on disc, but to simply thank all of those personalities for their contribution to my catalog of memories and songs... and maybe jog a memory or two, in those that grew up listening to the radio. Dedicated To: Bill Mack, Morgan Choate, Eddie Stubbs, Larry Scott, Ralph Emery, Grant Turner, Tracy Pitcox, Joe Bielinski, Willie Nelson, Bill Anderson, Big John Trimble, Charlie Douglas, Blair Garner, H. David Allen... Plus all those that inspired all of you!! See ya down the Honky Tonk Trail! Bob Manning The record that really woke the rest of the world up to Bob Manning and The Honky Tonk Roadshow was 'Just What I Wanted' a couple of years ago. With hypnotic walking basslines, heaps of steel guitar, late--night blues-- inspired guitar licks, a cinematic quality, and a laidback sound, as well as a lived--in gruffness to his vocals, Bob Manning has taken all his influences and distilled them into an instantly recognizable & unmistakable sound of his own.
