It is their first work featuring new band members Elliot Goldman on guitar, keys and other things, and Matt Gooch on Drums and Harmonica. Each of the three songwriters bring a unique stylistic voice to the album, with Elliot Goldman joining founders Chris Hanna and Justin Carrell in the songwriting and lead singing roles.
Leaning deeper into traditional country music instrumentation and style, "Outlaw Country Star" is foremost a country album. But, Beyond the old timey swells of the pedal steel and roll of the banjo, is an album deeply rooted in the present. The themes and lyrics of the album present many feelings, questions and longings familiar to anyone alive right now in this tragic, beautiful world.
