Crash! Boom! Bang! is the fifth studio album by Swedish pop rock band Roxette, released on April 9, 1994. Per Gessle claims that the title is taken from the lyrics of Elvis Presley's song "Jailhouse Rock". This is actually not true (although the lyrics do contain the words crash, boom, bang), because Per remembered the Elvis song when the album title was already thought up. He then thought it would be cool to mention Elvis in various interviews. There were 5 singles released from this album in Europe, all of which included previously unreleased versions of some Roxette songs that could not be found anywhere else.
Before the formation of Roxette, Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson were already accomplished musicians. But when their orbits crossed, a special chemistry kicked in that led the duo to a string of international hits. Roxette's first international hit "The Look" is a true all-time classic. An ode to the stylishly dressed girl, inspired by ZZ Top, still sounds surprisingly modern today.
