The new album < Beethoven: Symphony No.3, Op.55 “Eroica” by the young orchestra , which has recently attracted the most attention in the Korean music world – Live at SAC Concert Hall>(NCM KLASSIK) is released.
Since its formation in 2014, OES has been expanding its scope of activity by holding regular concerts at the Seoul Arts Center at least twice a year with Korea's leading performers. Starting in 2018, it became the first private organization to hold the at the Seoul Arts Center. > was planned. It was a large project to perform Beethoven's 9 symphonies as well as 5 piano concertos with pianists such as Lee Jin-sang, Moon Ji-young, Kim Tae-hyung, Kim Gyu-yeon, and Choi Hee-yeon.
However, the series, which was progressing smoothly, encountered the reef of a pandemic in the first half of 2020. Many members who were active overseas returned to Korea to perform after enduring several weeks of quarantine, but difficult concerts were canceled several times due to quarantine guidelines. This album is a live performance of held at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall on August 31, 2021, during a time of despair and twists and turns when it seemed like the series could not be completed.
Their 2018 debut album received favorable reviews from Michael Fine, who served as vice president of Deutsche Grammophon and artistic advisor to the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, for “a warm and affectionate performance of the Great Melody beautifully presented in the most natural way.” This album, which follows this album, deserves to be recorded as a monumental live album that not only features OES' unique dense sound and outstanding musicality, but also breaks the limits of the sound that a chamber orchestra can produce.
