The Slovakian AMC Trio presents their new album "Following The Light" with Randy Brecker and creates a genre-crossing, original sound through their compositions beyond traditional jazz. Influenced by their roots, the album tells its own musical stories with soulful melodies and remains true to the trio"s distinctive style.
The trio, which has been around for about 20 years, has developed their very own musical language over time. Influenced by their Slovakian roots, they combine the influences of their homeland with contemporary jazz. Consisting of pianist Peter Adamkovi?, bassist Martin Marin?ák and drummer Stanislav Cvanciger, the trio has an extraordinary talent for writing beautiful melodies with an Eastern European flair - yet they create compositions with an international sound. They function neither as an ordinary trio with one leader nor exclusively in trio formation and contribute as equal band members to a homogeneous chamber jazz sound. They function neither as an ordinary trio with one leader nor exclusively in trio formation and contribute as equal band members to a homogeneous chamber jazz sound. The trio has already worked with numerous top-class guests such as Philip Catherine, Bill Evans, Mark Whitfield or Ulf Wakenius. With their unique compositions, they were awarded both the Radio_Head Award for the best jazz album in 2013 and, with their latest album together with the Band Of Stano Baláž, the Audience Award for the best CD of the year in 2017 in the Esprit competition. After six released studio albums, the AMC Trio presents "Following The Light", including features by Randy Brecker and Ada Rovatti, an album in which they once again succeed in incorporating their own experiences, which give them a recognisable sound. In it, they know how to tell musical stories and evoke real emotions. This soulful album lives from variations as well as themes inspired by nature, literature or spirituality and impresses with the trio"s unique sound.
