Zurich-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer Kevin Wettstein aka Melodiesinfonie releases »Softboi«, 10 tracks of sun-drenched soul and smooth funk.

»Softboi« is enveloped in a hazy, gentle sunset vibe reminiscent of the funk of Khruangbin, the laid-back style of Tommy Guerrero and the warm studio aesthetic of El Michels Affair. Melodiesinfonie has been releasing music continuously for a decade, including several EPs, three solo albums and two featuring albums. Influences are wide ranging from Lonnie Liston Smith and Pharoah Sanders, to a stint in fusion and psychedelic rock from his audiophile father's record collection, to a healthy rebellious teenage phase with The Clash and Sex Pistols. Following album releases on Melting Pot and Jakarta, Wettstein began transitioning from beatmaking to a more organic style of music making. He bought a new set of drums after being inspired at a Yussef Dayes show while also resuming his relationship with guitar and bass, resulting in this new set of tracks.
