Grad_U - Spectral Decay (2023)

Greyscale's 30th full length album is out and it's a special one. A special one from the past. Over the years, Greyscale gets quite a few emails asking about certain releases and the possibility of more copies or a reissue. Even some where people ask about Greyscale artist releases that were on other labels too. One in particular, was the fantastic grad_u album 'Spectral Decay' from 2010. Originally released in digital on the short-lived Lithuanian Dumblys and back to the earlier producing days of grad_u, in fact, 2010 brought the first full length albums from him. In general, we feel that Greyscale is always making sure we look forward and moving the genre ahead. But we have to admit, it's great to look back occasionally and see where we all have come from. This is a true audio treat. Starting out with the haunting 'Thunder Dub'. You can get a glimpse even early on how grad_u was equally as fascinated with the more ambient side of the genre as the beat oriented. Ohrwert and Dominique Jacquinet also have special guest appearances with remix additions of the killer track 'Correlation'. How about the amazing 'Redux' that reminds of us epic ambient dub pieces like Basic Channel?! The title track 'Spectral Decay' is nearly an out of body experience! It has us wobbling in and out of time throwing off our equilibrium into another realm! It was a heavy prime early grad_u experience while 'Reprise' is the club banger of the bunch. We are extremely happy and thankful when we hear and read fans talking about our past works. Having said that. we are extremely excited to present the first physical release of 'Spectral Decay' now for you. Released on CD and digital on Greyscale.
