This is a regenerated project by Gala Drop from their archive.
In November of 2013, Gala Drop went into legendary Namouche Studios, in Lisbon, to record their next full length. 'II' came out circa one year later, on NY's Golf Channel Recordings and the band's own GDR imprint. Out of those sessions other tracks were committed to tape that didn't fit the mostly song-oriented album. 'Nova' was one of them, and made its way in a 12'' a year later - one side a Niagara remix, the other a remix by Gala Drop founding member Tiago. The story now gets a new, perhaps definitive chapter with this digital-only release. 'Latina' was around the time a staple in the band's live repertoire and they seeked remix contributions for this monumental groove, having in mind another volume on wax for the dancefloors. Close creative peers and Príncipe affiliates Niagara got so inspired they delivered 3 versions, prismed by their open-ended fascination with dance music. Detroit's Reggie Dokes offered a ragtime take on the material, as soulful a creation as his classy strain of minimalist Deep House he has gotten to be celebrated for. Peaking Lights' Aaron Coyes chose to let it all out. A cosmic voyage is set forth, showing the compelling style of Gala Drop's practice: conceptually aspirational and airtight in execution and performance, laced with a maverick attitude in governance within the independent music industry.
