Jose Alberto Medina, Javier Infante - Volver (2023)

The duo made up of the pianist Jose Alberto Medina and the guitarist Javier Infante honestly shows the fusion of the roots of Canarian music, with influences from jazz and traditional European chamber music. Strings and keys envelop us in an authentic dialogue and mutual admiration. The Spanish guitar together with the piano give energy and dynamism to a repertoire of a universal character.

These two great composers and interpreters of their own music tell us a story in each recital. Interaction and improvisation are prominent elements that make each concert a unique and unrepeatable experience. They have released two albums, Dúos (2010) and Alegre Coraçao (2014). This original duo begins its national and international projection playing at the XX Canarias Jazz y Mas Heineken International Festival, XXIX Madrid Jazz Festival, Club Jamboree in Barcelona, Santo Domingo Jazz Festival in the Dominican Republic, 31st OAicina da Musica Festival in Curitiba in Brazil, the Spanish Sound Festival at Haus am Waldsee in Berlin and the University of Heidelberg at the Jornada de Hispanismo in Germany, in the first edition of the Maps culture market in the Canary Islands in the Canary Islands.

Recorded in Madrid, February 2023, 'Volver' comes after 13 years in which this duo meets again to record their third album with their own compositions. Javier together with Jose Alberto recreate a constant dialogue between the guitar and the piano revisiting some songs and hits from South American music.
