Wagakki Band - I vs I (2023) Hi-Res

Wagakki Band, which consists of seven musicians and the singer Yuko Suzuhana, deftly fuses traditional Japanese instruments with contemporary rock. Though the stage may get a bit crowded with a drummer, a guitarist, a bassist, a tsugaru-jamisen (Japanese lute) player, a koto (Japanese harp) player, a shakuhachi (Japanese flute) player, a taiko drummer, and a fan-swinging singer, they manage to put on a surprisingly dynamic and cohesive performance.

In 2014, they released their major label debut album Vocalo Sanmai, a collection of vocaloid cover songs, on the Avex label. After releasing 4 studio albums and a compilation album with Avex, they signed with Universal Music. They released their first EP with Universal, REACT, in December 2019 and the album Tokyo Singing in October 2020.

The theme of this work is "battle". The title "I vs. I" expresses the straightforward feeling of fighting against oneself facing music, fighting against rivals and the environment surrounding them, and fighting to deliver their sound to the world for nine years since their debut as members of Wagakki Band.

The original album contains 13 songs including previously released songs such as Wagakki Band's signature song "Starlight", the theme song for the Fuji TV drama "Ichikei no Karasu", and "Ichigo no Aria", the opening theme song for the TV anime "MARS RED".

As a bonus track, the anime "Aware! Meisaku-kun" theme song "Meisaku Journey", which was broadcast on NHK E-tele, and a self-cover of "Hoshi no Gotoku", which became a hot topic as a song provided to Sutopuri, are also included.
