LANE - Where Things Were (2023)

Many of us know this but LANE bowed out a few years ago. The pop-punk formation led by members of the Thugs or Daria had recorded a last album at that time as a farewell gift. Here it is finally available and called Where Things Were.

This posthumous disc will capture all the energy of LANE which will have made them famous. Right from the start with "Nice Shot", the quintet pulls out all the stops with this hectic rhythm section and these explosive riffs that made them famous before getting back on their feet with the boosted "Sunday Night" and "Vermillions" gracefully brushing the sound barrier.

Where Things Were is the ultimate opportunity for LANE to recall their quintessential yesteryear. You only have to judge the listening of the intense instrumentals like "Chernobyl" stretching over a good eight minutes but also of absolutely flamboyant "Charlie Brown". For the rest, the quintet gives their ultimate letters of nobility with songs that definitely sound like final farewells with the bittersweet "Painted White" and "Deadly Kiss" as a closing which will have enough to synthesize the music full of characters of LANE.
