The world's first SACD of the masterpiece recorded at the end of the musical director era of the Dresden State Opera (1960-64) by Suitner. Although it is sung in German, it is a masterpiece that has decorated the era as one of the important recordings of this song since its release. It can be said that it is truly an eternal surface plate, with gorgeous singers including star singers in the West at the time, beautiful sound by Staatskapelle Dresden, and Sweeter's sharp conducting. This sound source will be recorded with Staatskapelle Dresden just before he became the music director of the Berlin State Opera from 1964, but until then, this combination included ``Escape from the inner palace'' and ``Salome''.

The recordings by Suitner during this period, especially the series of sound sources including Mozart's symphonies with Staatskapelle Dresden, which continue after this, are all wonderful, and I am fascinated by the flowing phrasing and appropriate articulation that make use of the light tempo and the sound of the orchestra. And above all, the singers such as W. Berry, A. Rotenberger, H. Prey, H. Guden, E. Matisse, and P. Schreier are substantial and stable, and it is surprising that it is an album that has a sense of unity with everything, including excellent recordings by C. Struben. In front of such perfection, I don't even care about German singing, and the more I listen to it, the more I am drawn into it. It progresses without failure, and the light music and the overall bright music making are also affecting it. The faintly astringent sound of the orchestra that blends with the singers is also excellent. With this high-quality sound, it became possible to understand even more details. It is a result that you can feel the atmosphere of the time.
