Award Winning Faroese singer and songwriter Lena Anderssen takes another giant leap with her new album "Letters From The Faroes". Already voted "Album Of The Year" in her native Faroe Islands the Canadian-Faroese songstress goes straight for the heart with this personal album – a postcard voyage filled with stories of longing, regrets, paranoia, dreams, heartache and hope, always hope. The album is recorded in many corners of the world. Starting in Seattle with drummer Matt Chamberlain laying the foundation, moving on to the Faroes, where Lena and producer Niclas Johannesen worked on overdubs and arrangements, then to Iceland where strings and symphonic stuff were recorded and lastly mixed in Oslo, Norway by George Tanderø, with additional tracks mixed in the USA by Lee Bridges. As for the actual tangible album, Lena decided to give it a real artistic dimension by having the leading Faroese portrait painter Torbjørn Olsen paint her for the album sleeve. Matching the painting is a portrait photography taken by award winning photographer Bárður Eklund at the exact same setting where the portrait was painted.
