Roberto Ottaviano, Pinturas - A che punto è la notte (2023)

Pinturas wants to dedicate this album to the memory of the Apulian guitarist Rino Arbore, who died prematurely in 2021, whose transparency illuminated the nights of many other people, but who, ironically, could not illuminate his own.
"After many years of projects carried out jointly with artists from different parts of our planet, it is no coincidence that about fifteen years ago this new quartet was born on my land. Here jazz becomes a fast "brush" with which you can depict landscapes and imaginary stories, colors represent an endless palette consisting of all the music that we deeply love and which still, despite everything, represents the idea of a message in a bottle. This is how Pinturas is composed, a dynamic fresco aimed at the future, but, nevertheless, deeply rooted in the archetype of the South.". The disc contains eight original compositions signed by three musicians — "The moon is hiding behind your mouth", "Boo", "You and the night and words (like clouds)", "Like tears from the sky (to Reno Arbor)". )" Ottaviano, "Hermes" D'Ambrosio, "Pinturas" by Vendola and "Notturno Indiano" signed by Di Modugno, as well as rereadings opening and closing the disc, "O Silencio das Estrellas" by the Brazilian singer. and composer Fatima Guedes and "Avalanche", a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, included in the 1971 album Songs of Love and Hate.
