As was customary in the 17th century, the musicians position themselves in the room in such a way that the relationships between the individual voices can be impressively experienced. Georg Kallweit, concertmaster of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, and his fellow musicians in the ensemble Urban Strings stand for extraordinary tonal spatial concepts. They interpret ostinato and variation works with and without scordatura. Biber, Pachelbel and also J. S. Bach sometimes changed the usual basic tuning of the violin in their compositions in order to alienate the sound image in a mysterious way.
