The new live album by PFM – Premiata Forneria Marconi “THE EVENT – Live in Lugano” (Aereostella) is out on Wednesday 19 May with the participation of two special guests: Matteo Mancuso, undisputed guitar star and Luca Zabbini, leader of the Barock Project, at the hammond organ, keyboards and vocals. An hour and a half of music that retraces the career of the most famous Italian prog band in the world, from the Story of a minute, their debut album in 1972, to I dreamed of electric sheep, the last unreleased album released in 2023, which met with great success with audiences and critics. The album will be available in CD, double LP and on streaming and digital download platforms.
After the triumph of hundreds of dates in the last two years, PFM decided to record its concert during the Estival Jazz in Lugano last summer (2022): «The concert in Lugano was very special – PFM tells us – because our guitarist Marco Sfogli could not be present. We therefore thought of inviting a musician with an extraordinary talent: Matteo Mancuso. Thanks to Matteo and Luca Zabbini, leader of the Barock Project, you will hear an unedited PFM. “THE EVENT – Live in Lugano” is the first album of a new project that will satisfy the public who loves live performances: PFM Live Collection. The new record series will have to its credit recordings of historical pieces, reinterpretations, jams and everything we will “churn out” on stage. We’ve always loved experimenting and the stage is our gym that we don’t know and don’t want to give up. “THE EVENT – Live in Lugano” is only the first and… it will be Celebration again».
