Akina Nakamori - CRIMSON (+1; 2023 Lacquer Master Sound) (2023) Hi-Res

"CRIMSON" is Nakamori's second studio album released in 1986 following his previous work "Fushigi". This is the 10th studio album released simultaneously in three formats: cassette (LKF-8150) and CD (32XL-190). This work also does not include single songs like "Fushigi". The album title CRIMSON means "crimson", and Oricon said, "It's the color of the sunset sea and sky, it's the color of moist lips, and the color of After Five's dress." explaining the image.

For this album, Akiko Kobayashi and Mariya Takeuchi provided five songs each. Kobayashi and Takeuchi were asked to provide the music for this album, based on the concept of wanting to use the theme of feminine warmth and grace by female writers. Director Katsumi Fujikura explains, "I'm conscious of the story that any woman over 20 years old can experience." He said that he was imagining a lady.

Recording of this album began in July 1986. Of the songs recorded in this album, the singing method is unified for all songs, except for "Smile for Mick Jagger", which is arranged as the 10th song. Regarding "Smile for Mick Jagger", the director Fujikura said that only this song has a different texture in the whole album, and after working on how to incorporate it into the album, he applied SE processing and said, "Akina is herself. I set it as if I was in a room, and set it to be a song that plays from a cassette.” The SE in this room was actually recorded in Nakamori's room. The original version of this song was included in the planned album "AKINA" (CD: WPCL-770~773) released on November 10, 1993.

Due to the recent city pop and vinyl boom, this work has been re-evaluated and has become a popular board, and the analog board is traded at a premium price.
