Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Lydia Warren returns to national stage with her new studio album “Hotel Beds,” featuring Josh Fulero on guitar (Curtis Salgado, Mark Hummel), Danny Banks on bass (John Németh), and Chris Rivelli on drums (Roomful of Blues, Janiva Magness). The ten song album showcases what Lydia has become known for: a deep love and mastery of West Side Chicago blues. “Hotel Beds,” cut live in the studio during one 48-hour recording session, is the audible culmination of 13 years of live performances, countless appearances with blues masters, and trials and tribulations in love and life. Songs run the gamut from the flirty title-track shuffle, to the moody slide-infused “Memphis,” to the classic slow blues “So Many Roads.”
Lydia Warren honed her skills opening for B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Little Feat, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Johnny Winter, with tours from Beirut, Lebanon to Torino, Italy to Memphis, TN. She performs at the top blues festivals in the United States, like North Atlantic Blues Festival, Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, and White Mountain Boogie & Blues Festival, and appeared on NBC’s Today Show, where they proclaimed her to be “changing the face of the blues with her music.” This is her sixth self-released album.
