The Quatuor Anches Hantées, with 20 years of experience, concerts in France and around the world, is a unique quartet, a key figure in its formation which works to develop its repertoire through the transcription of works and creation.
Driven by the breath given by the creation of Alfred Bruneau's Romance for clarinet quartet and by the creation of the Malinconia program, the Quartet continues its quest for History, for roots. Drawing from the classical scores of the string quartet, the Quatuor Anches Hantées continues its immersion in the great repertoire of chamber music and explores the possibilities of its formation.
Now equipped with a basset horn, an instrument acclaimed by Mozart, the QAH is working on its sound palette to open it up to more intimate, more chamber colors. In this opus, the QAH is inspired by a Beethoven who, in his quartets, not only assumed the important heritage of a Haydn or a Mozart, but knew how to carry out an inventory of the means acquired with a view to their permanent overcoming. , to the point of completely revolutionizing writing for four instruments and projecting it into the confines of the 20th century.
The Quartet opus 18 n°1, the longest and most brilliant of the six quartets dedicated to Prince Lobkowitz, will be at the center of this program which, like Malinconia, will be available for recording in 2023.
The Quartet will also take on the unique string quartet composed by Fanny Hensel-Mendelssohn, sister of Félix Mendelssohn. Echoing the avant-garde of the composer, one of the greatest of the 19th century, the Quartet strives for innovation. The tool of transcription, in addition to serving to root a new formation, must give rise to the original composition.
Between the two string quartets will be played an original creation by Laurent Lefrançois, composer in residence at the Festival Ma Vigne en Musique.
