Sylvain Kassap & Helene Labarriere - Dedicaces (2023)

1990, Hélène Labarrière and Sylvain Kassap met musically within the Montreuil collective “Incidence”. Since then they have been playing together. As a duo, in a trio, in a quartet, in an orchestra, in France, abroad... All occasions are good for meeting and dialogue, telling stories, listening to and commenting on the world around us... A fusion between the sound of the double bass and that of the clarinets is born of this complicity.

One of those conversations in which one follows with passionate curiosity the slightest digressions, tensions, paroxysms, allusions, quotations. The subjects are serious, cheerful, nostalgic, even painful and sometimes mixed, but the density of the exchange is constant. To the point that bodies and words, like virtual objects or "ghosts", seem to emerge from the magma, from the fire of dialogue.
