'A Small Fire in the Snowy Woods' was originally broadcast for about fourteen hours from the evening of December 27th to the afternoon of December 28th, 2022. It is a piece of generative music, created with the R-EW Audioholistics modular system, primarily focusing upon the Karplus-Strong synthesizer within Noise Engineering's Versio module (running Spectra mode in the user-designed Multi Versio firmware), which played soft and fuzzy ambient music in a custom scale. I revisited the patch two different times during the night, each time in a progressively more relaxed and sleepy state, which allowed for three distinct variations to materialize.
This recording follows November's 'Creation' in form and function, and is designed as a name-your-price longform ambient work that I hope will offer you some relief from the world when it is tiresome... more
