The next installment of Greyscale's full-length catalog is here from the Japanese artist Silentwave. 'Dub Melancolia', features 11 dynamic tracks in total which plays more like a cinematic soundtrack then a dub techno album. 'Morning View' creates the background as the strings set the mood and builds the anticipation for the album continue. You can already tell this isn't the usual dub techno album. 'Window Listening' evolves the strings further, announcing itself triumphantly to the fold. Fully inspired, label owner grad_u offers a wonderful deep celestial remix to this track later in the album. The original compliments the title of the album completely conjuring comparisons to Alva Noto or Thomas Koner and is the ideal winter day music. 'Wataridori' and 'Computer Desert' take drone to another level as melodies compliment that midrange in a fantastic balance for advanced listeners. 'Indigenous Dance' is favorite around here at the Greyscale camp. An emotional track that builds in such a beautiful way. Truly magical. We weren't quite ready for 'Dorift Ice' and it totally caught us off guard as it hits midway thru the album. But it makes so much after the amazing first half built to this. Powerful and undetermined, it relentlessly brings things to a fever pitch. 'Eden' is also a favorite from those who have heard samples of the album. A stunning mid-tempo melody peaker. Lastly, grad_u closes the release out with his reprise of 'Window Listening' bookmarking the interstellar journey that was. 'Dub Melancolia' is one of the most moving albums we have featured on Greyscale and it may open your ears to what is possible in the genre and what the future may hold for the style. This album has us thinking big picture and not just the dancefloor. This is music that stirs the emotions. Presented in one of our hallmark physical cd's or on digital.
